Dollywood

This past Sunday I attended Dollywood for the first time this year. I have been to Dollywood many times before in my life, but this possibly could have been the worst trip yet. The most terrible part was unquestionably the heat. Walking along the black pavement almost seemed unbearable, each step I had to mop sweat of my face. The next thing that troubled me was it seemed as if thousands of people were always brushing up on you or walking into you. Even though Dollywood is one of my favorite places to go during the summer, this trip went from bad to worse in a hurry.

TTU Business Media Center

While attending TTU I decided to do work study because it is on campus and a good way to make a little of money during the semester. My experiences with the BMC have been awesome and not so awesome. The awesome things about the BMC are the projects that we must do, such as Ollie the Otter promoting Booster Seat awareness. Also, I have attended many filming and interview projects, an example of this is horseback riding while filming for a company’s promotional website and DVD. Some not so great experiences is working ten hour days of doing nothing but putting letters in envelopes and sealing them. The first mail out we overcame was 3500 letters and the second was 6000. This is probably one of the worst things I have done working for anyone or any business in my entire life. Overall, my work study at the BMC has been a brilliant learning and fun experience.

Reader Response

Flatbread Frenzy was a really amazing review to read. Forrest went into such detail it was almost as if I was sitting there with him the whole time. Forrest made some of the most unreal names for food, seem so delicious. Overall, this was an excellent review to read, and it served as a great example of how to write a proper review. Also, I had to go eat something after I read this.

The review of the Harry Potter movie by Outhier served as a brilliant example. The characters description seemed almost flawless. Even though it seemed as if it was directed to older individuals and not to teenagers it was an excellent review.

Reader Response

The Triumph of Hope over Self-Interest was a very interesting essay to read. It explains a lot about how Americans think and how they believe over certain things. It gives excellent clear examples, such as quoting a Jennifer Lopez song, and comparing George Bush to Barbara Streisand. Overall, David Brooks explains how people in the United States treat each other fairly, not by how rich or how poor someone is.
